March Madness

Our city is celebrating as we have two teams Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and the University of Richmond (UofR) included in the Sweet 16 round of the basketball tournament. The t-shirts and fan gear are being purchased at records levels as this is a big deal and cause for celebration. This is a first for VCU to make it this far; I had to stalk the bookstore to make sure DD had her t-shirt for spirit day today at her school. GO RAMS!!!.

Mommy & Me

The pictures in this LO were taken during a Thanksgiving Feast at my DD's school last November. I made this a separate LO from the feast LO; I plan to scrap feast pictures soon! This LO didn't require any journaling but I did add the girls names to the tags after the picture was taken. I used CTMH paper and one of Tiare's sketches for inspiration.

LOVE

I'm moving right along with completing one LO per week, sometimes two. I finished this LO yesterday after initially starting on it earlier in the week. I used some of the family photos that we took last October. I used Colorbok paper, the few embellishments include mini brads(corners of the pattern paper), a button and the title was cut using the Opposites Attract cricut cartridge. In keeping with less is better I always want the focal point to be the pictures!

Daddy & Me

LO of DH and DD using a picture taken just last month at the VCU Siegel Center. Its moments like these that you certainly cherish as they grow up way too fast! I used paper that I received as part of some blog candy, it is from Cosmo Cricket. Misc. embellishments and title cut using the Mickey Mouse font cricut cartridge.

Black History Bingo Challenge

I created this LO as part of a Black History Bingo Challenge over at
Scraps of Color. The theme was to create a 12x12 LO that included explaining why you are Black History. This was a very good exercise for me and allowed me to use some of the pictures that I took while President Obama (then candidate) was on the campaign trail. I was a volunteer at a rally during one of his stops in Virginia. You had 13 ways you could get bingo by using the listed elements on your LO. One scrapper used all of the elements so she won the grand prize, all of the LOs were awesome!
