Field Day

Happy Sunday, it was much cooler today and I was happier. I managed to get through the day without taking sinus medicine too. I'm scrap happy as I am sharing one of the final LOs for DD's 4th grade school album. I'm happy to report that I'm done with the album before she starts 5th grade! This is a LO using pictures of their field day; DD and her friends are wearing t-shirts that I made for them.

Cousins

Today I'm sharing a LO that I have mixed feelings about, I struggled with choosing paper so I just decided to keep it even simplier than normal! It is a LO of our daughter with her cousins, she is the only princess on both sides of our family. I'm not fond of the picture either, it was taken in a hurry a few weeks ago after an evening church service. Maybe I should have tried to doctor it up or something, but since I didn't it is what it is!

Dad's Day

This is a LO using a picture taken of DD and DH on Father's Day. We were just about to leave my in-laws after dinner and I realized I hadn't taken any pictures all day. She had given him his gift earlier that day while he was still in bed. We are thankful for his recovery progress, he was only using a cane when this picture was taken.

Tag Swap

Happy Monday! Are you staying cool? This blazing heat is taking a toll on everything; I don't have the energy to move. I hope you're staying cool and well hydrated. Today I am sharing the tags that I received from a summer themed tag swap that was held over at Scraps of Color. I created the 4th of July tag.

Win Cricut Cartridge and Promarkers

Head on over to Enfy's blog at Going Buggy. She's offering this nice blog candy in honor of reaching another milestone in the number of people following her blog. Good Luck!

Blog Candy

I have been the lucky winner of some blog candy recently. I'm always cruising blogs and leaving comments and was pleasantly surprised when I finally won!

Thanks to Carole over at Paper Arts for the cute embroideried tote.

I'd also like to thank the design team over at Platinum Scraps for the paper pack, markers and set of spellbinders nestabilities.

Congratulations Kappa Alpha Psi

Our week in Indiana is winding down and Indianapolis has been a great host city. Banners adorn sign/light post, street signs temporarily renamed, red carpet celebrations and great hospitality.

Bloomington

On Thursday we went to Indiana University in Bloomington. Kappa Alpha Psi was founded at IU in 1911 so one of the themes of the grand chapter meeting was "Come Home to Kappa." They are the only historically Black fraternity founded at a perdoominately white school. I tell you it has been a beautiful sight to see and I'm not sure the campus or Bloomington was ready for our visit. I don't think they expected such an outpouring, there are over 35,000 people in attendence this week and I think most of them have gone or will be going to IU. I'm sharing a picture that I took a few miles before we arrived on campus. I have taken so many pictures I will probably make an album for DH and FIL!

Anniversary

Today DH and I are celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary. We are on vacation in Indianapolis attending his fraternity's 100th year celebration. We have lots of fun events scheduled already so we'll probably have to postpone our anniversary celebration until we get back home! So today I'm sharing a picture of us yesterday while we watched the Indiana Indians lose to the Toledo Mud Hens. We walked in the Kappas parade to Victory stadium enjoyed a catered cookout, the game and fireworks!

Status Check

I've been so busy that I haven't had time to blog or scrap. I'm actually entering this entry in the lobby of an Hampton Inn in Huntington, West Virginia. I'm waiting for DH to get himself together so that we can get back on the road to Indianapolis. He is doing better but still not 100 percent (he'll never get back to where he was). The car is overpacked as usual and we'll probably have to send our clothes out to be pressed. I didn't pack any scrappin' stuff but I will snap some pictures and share them while we're vacationing in Indiana. Wishing you and yours a safe, healthy and happy 4th of July. We will be going to a parade and baseball game tomorrow so stay tuned!
