Sisters

As March comes to an end so does the recognition of Women's History Month so I am sharing this LO.   This is the last picture of me and my two sisters, I wish I hadn't been in such a rotten mood.  I really hate taking pictures and most times it shows on my face.  If I had any idea that I would never be able to pose or take another picture with my oldest sister I would have embraced that moment.  As much as I try to step out of my comfort zone I always go back to the less is better.  The LO uses the contents of a fle I bought from the silhouette online store.  I just need to add the journaling, I am sharing this LO for blog challenge number 13 over at Scraps of Color.  All cuts were done with the cameo using items from my stash.

Smash Book

Today I'm sharing my rendition of a "Throwback Thursday' here on my blog!  I always have way too much going on and even more unfinished projects.  Several years ago in an effort to get my daughter to scapbook I got her a smash book and she said she'd add stuff to it.  Well she did do a few pages but she grew tired and decided that wasn't for either.  So that left me to work on it, I have my own smash books that need some attention!  So today's smash book LO is of our daughter's 11th birthday celebration.  I can't believe how much she's grown up when you look at her 13th birthday picture posted just last week!  Gone are those carefree days of pigtails and simple fun!

Smile

Today's simple card is one that I started while I was away for the weekend but for some reason never put it all together.  I'm sharing this card for week #11 blog challenge over at Scraps of Color.  This challenge was to create a project using animal print.  The sketch inspiration for this card comes from sketch #284 over at Clean & Simple Stamping.  I struggled with the title and embellishements for this card since I had limited supplies with me, I used my SLICE to cut the sentiment.  The hint of red was a suggestion from Sharon, the coloring is a little off for the little wooden embellishments.  I've got to get on the ball because my cards are stacking up and not making it to the post office.  Last full day of Winter, come on Spring!

Happy 13th

Wow it has been a few days since I've shard on my blog, I've been busy having fun and now trying to settle back into the daily grind of life.  Today I'm sharing the only LO that I finshed while I was on my mini retreat.  I guess I finished it because I had actually started it before I left!  The LO uses pictures that I took of our baby girl as we were heading out to school last month on her birthday.  The paper and the embellishments have been in my stash for sometime with the exception of the butterfly.   I received the butterfly in a package that I received from Princess for participating in her Black History Bingo Challenge.  The titling was cut with the cameo.  We had  overnight freezing rain so the kids have a two hour school delay this morning have having all day yesterday out due to inclement weather.  We're looking forward to Spring, be safe and have a great day.

Paper Scraps Overload

Today's card is one that is includes misc.  ipaper scraps and two 3-d flower sticker embellishments from my stash, I just can't seem to move those piles quick enough.  The sketch inspiration comes from the monthly challenge over at Mema's Crafts.  I am borrowing an idea from Kelli from Scraps of Color,  where you make the cards and don't necessary add the sentiment right away. I like that idea and may not even at a sentiment to the front at all.  You can see some of Kelli's projects over at A Scrap of This and That .where you make the cards and don't necessary add the sentiment right away.  While  I was putting the card together I had mixed feelings about the end result  but I'm pleased with the outcome!

I am suffering from a case of paper scraps and embellishments overload, I don't know what I am going to do.  I'm in the middle of a major reorganization of my area and I seem to be making a big mess!  All that aside I am trying to pack for my upcoming weekend getaway with my scappin' bestie Sharon from .I2BZ2W8.   I can't wait even though I'm not sure how much I'll get done but the downtime will be a welcome relief!  Wishing you and yours a great week, as always thank you for stopping by and I do hope you come back soon.

Ready for Spring

We are so ready for Spring, looking forward to warmer temps today.  Today I am sharing  this Spring themed card that will be going postal later today!  I  am sending it to someone that recently started a new job.

I am sharing this card for the weekly blog challenge over at Scraps of Color where the theme for week #10 is Dreaming of Spring.  The sketch inspiration  comes from sketch #283 over at Clean and Simple Stamping.   To make the card I used misc. paper from my scraps, a wreath die cut(a freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables), a stamped sentiment and a piece of ribbon  It did take some time to assemble the wreath, perhaps if I had cut it a little larger the assembling would have taken less time.

Wishing you and yours a great weekend.  Today is my M IL's 71st birthday so we are planning a girl's only celebration since the guys are traveling to Columbus, Ohio for a basketball game.

Thinking of You

Hello Sunday, I'm back today to share a card that I made using sketch number 282 from Clean & Simple Stamping.  I like how I just used scraps of paper to make this card, I did mist the card base and the scraps came from the 6x6 This & That Echo Park paper pad.  The sentiment was cut using the Alphalicious cricut cartridge.  Looking at it now I should have embellished a tad bit more, I'll use this sketch again soon and spice it up a little!

Have a great week, lots going on within the next few weeks so I may not get to play.
