Hello Friday

We made it, another Friday and the weekend has started or rather for me it will start around 5:30 when I leave work for the day.  I am sure I will be struggling to stay awake since I woke up at 2 AM and didn't go back to sleep until almost 5 AM and when I woke up and it was light outside I went into overdrive.  When I couldn't sleep I went downstairs to work on my last LOs for this month's challenge.

Today I am sharing another pocket style LO, I have several that I am hoping to finish soon.  I need to figure out a better way to take the pictures as the glare is horrible.   I originally scrapped the picture of the wives that attended the dinner in my Simply Beautiful post so this one include additional pictures.  The fraternity brothers with the white coats have been members for 50 years or more.

Take care and have wonderful weekend.

Sweet Sunday Sketch

It's Thursday and today I am sharing a card that I put together using inspiration from this week's sketch #279 over at Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I used some of the leftover paper from yesterday's LO along with a flower cut with my SLICE, buttons, a stamped sentiment and the card was done and it will be going postal soon!

I am winding down with my LO challenges for this month and I signed up for a crop next Saturday.  I will need to get some stuff together to work on at the crop so I don't waste too much time socializing! I need to get catch on my scripture journaling so I may just decide to work on it so I don't have to take a whole card load of stuff!

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Wednesday Wanderings - Ouch

Welcome to another edition of Wednesday Wanderings which is just a misc. rambling about something but not too much of anything!  This week is going by rather fast, I pick baby girl back up from volleyball camp tomorrow; overall I think it has been a good experience.  When she woke up yesterday she complained of  head and back aches.  I told her to just "tough it out" she would be fine although I immediately want to get in my car and drive there to try to take care of her!  I did ask DH if he thought she needed a foam pad on their mattress.

Let me say that today's LO is not one that is teen approved but because I usually share most of my daughter's LOs I decided to go ahead and share this one too. I'm not sure if I shared here on my blog but I did share on FB while I waited during the procedure.  This was one of those times when I sent dad in the room to be with her.  These pictures were taken last month during and after her "gum contouring" procedure. It was a quite painful experience, I still need to add the journaling; anyway she survived!

The rambling has gone on way too long, used items from my stash that included paper that I picked up on clearance at Tuesday Morning not too long ago, old stickers from the Paper Stack, cut the band-aid using the Indie Art cricut cartridge, Spellbinder die for the circle and Colorbok letters for the title.

Take care and have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Got Hair

Hello and happy Monday, the weekends go by way too fast!  I had to spend most of my time getting my daughter ready for her volleyball camp.  The LO today uses pictures taken of  her hair after a recent visit to see her stylist, she had to get something different because she was going to a water park and volleyball camp this week.  I used papers from a K&Co.  Specialty Pack, Thickers, stickers, buttons, washi tape and Prima flowers with brad centers.  Another LO done, still haven't figured out how I am going to document this week's volleyball camp!

Wishing you and yours a great week.

Sweet Sunday Sketch

Hello and happy Friday, I am back today to share a card that I put together using sketch #278 over at Sweet Sunday Sketch.  This is just my second time using one of their sketches but I like the clean and simple concept of the sketches and you just add any flair or fanfare  along with your interpretation of the sketch and your card is done.  The pattern paper came from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge 6x6 paper pad, the butterfly is from Recollections and the sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up.  I cut the little pennant with my cricut but looking at the picture maybe I should have used another color.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Biker Chicks

It's Thursday and I am so looking forward to the weekend!  I am back today to share another LO that was "teen approved" when my daughter saw it she said "I like it" which is a big deal coming from her!   Although my style is clean and simple because when I scrap I always want the pictures to be the focus I still struggle and put lots of time and thought into my LOs.  I had a hard time choosing the paper and the fact that I didn't have a trike style motorcycle I had to go with what I had, this is another result of being unorganized.  I used the Father's Day cricut cartridge for the motorcycle and Songbird (great letters for welding) for the titling.  I cut the tag with my SLICE, still need to add the details and a few other embellishments and it was done!

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Simply Beautiful

It's  going to be really hot again today so it means I will spend as less time as possible outside! Today I am sharing a LO that I created using a picture  taken of the wives that attended a dinner with their husbands at a fraternity dinner last month, I may scrap some of the other pictures later.  My original vision for this LO took quite a few twists and turns before I considered it done.  I used my cricut for the title, my cameo for the the dress form,  and a spellbinder die for the label that I used for the journaling.  The red gemstone flourish is from the Paper Stack.  I am still hoping to make my monthly goal, I need to work on my photography skills the LO is not straight (that's what happens when you rush to take the picture as you're headed out the door for work)!

Take care and make it a great day.

Celebrating Family

Today we are mourning the loss but celebrating the life of one of my dear cousins.  Our family has really suffered some losses within the last few years but we have tried not to dwell on it because death is inevitable.  Today I am sharing an 8x8 LO that I put together using a picture that I found in one of my grandmother's albums.  I took the polaroid to the store and made a few prints and made gifts for two of my cousins.  The picture was taken during a time when our life events weren't documented but the importance of family has always been strong which is one of the values that I strive to instill in my own children.  I did purchase a few items for this project including the memory frame.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week of love and happiness creating and documenting cherished memories.

Just a Note

It's Saturday and I am back to share another card using the last of some paper scraps that I used earlier in the week!  The skerch inspiration for this card comes from challenge #277 over at  Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  In addition to the leftover paper scraps I added a stamped sentiment, a flower and a button that has been in my stash forever.  The card came together rather quickly and it will be going postal within the next few days.

Take care and do whatever makes your heart happy!

Sibling Love

Hello and happy Friday, today I am sharing a LO that I finished recently using a picture of my children.  I love to scrap their pictures and since I've never done a book for my son I just may include this one in his album!  The base of the LO  is a sheet of paper from the DCWV texture stack, and I used a different piece from the same stack to mat the picture. The  pattern and purple card stock came from my stash from other packs/stacks.  I had a hard time keeping the purple embellishment at the bottom straight but I am happy that I finally found a use for it, I think it is from Prima and it was gifted to me.  The little love banner was cut with my silhouette and the letters for it and the title have been in my stash for a long time.  After adding a few gems in the corner I decided it was done!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Clean & Simple

Hello and happy Thursday, I am back today to share another card that I put together using some leftover paper scraps from the last Scraps of Color Friday night chat.  The sketch inspiration came from the Clean & Simple Stamping  blog.  I used miscellaneous pattern paper scraps along with a ribbon for the bow, Queen's candy shoppe embellishments and the sentiment was cut from the George cricut cartridge.

Take care and have a great day.

Mojo Monday 406

Hello Wednesday, it is mid-month and I need to step up my game or I won't make my LO challenge.  Today I am sharing a card that I together for this week's Mojo Monday card sketch challenge.  These scraps just don't seem to be moving.  The card came together quickly once I selected my paper choices from the multiple piles that never seem to get sorted!  I finished it off with a stamped sentiment and a Prima butterfly that I have been trying to use forever, I still have one left in the package!

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday, I am so happy that you took the time to visit my blog.

Pocket Scrapbooking

Hello and happy Tuesday, today I am sharing a page that I completed using the WeR Memory Keepers (Made Easy) photo sleeves.  I am not sure how I feel about it, it was a little out of my comfort zone.  I didn't use any of the journaling or pocket cards that are sold for this type of scrapbooking,  I just used scrap paper, some stickers and a few other embellishments.  I am thinking about doing this style of album for my son since I've never scraped  an album for him.

Take care and have a great day.

Sunday Musings

Hello and welcome to another edition of Sunday Musings, which is actually done on Saturday night!  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for one of my cousins, she recently suffered a loss and since I wasn't able to make the trip to see her I wanted to send her a greeting even though I had already spoken to her on the phone.  I just can't seem to step out of comfort zone but I did manage to pull out my Spectrum Noir markers to color the cross which is a stamp from the Pink Bow Ties set called  Soulful Sunday.  The rest of the card  is just paper scraps from my stash, a few pearls and a  stamped sentiment.

I am sharing this card for the following challenges:
Hiding in my Craft Room - #207 Super Scraps
Scraps of Color - Anything Goes
Use Your Stuff - #200 Anything Goes

Thank you for visit, I hope you will come back again, take care and have a wonderful week.

Christmas in July

Hello and Happy Friday, I am back today to share a card that I created for this week's challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  I am also happy to share that I was recently a winner over at HIMCR for one of their weekly challenges!  So if you are looking for some inspiration  and a way to use some of your stash head on over to their blog.  This week's challenge is to create a project using the colors red, white and blue with a Christmas theme.   I just used the some of the papers that I had left over from my 4th of July cards, the wreath was in my stash from last year's holiday cards, I cut the tag with my SLICE, stamped the sentiment, added a gem, a little bit of twine and the card was done!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Wednesday Wanderings

Hello and Happy Wednesday,  I am way behind there is always so much to do!  The holiday came and went and I didn't do much of anything but sleep and a few chores.  I have challenged myself to complete at least 10 LOs this month, I need to get busy.  I am also working on my first pocket page style LO so stay tuned.  Today I am sharing another signature simple but classy  page using the group pictures taken at this year's family and friends annual picnic for the Fredericksburg Kappas.  How you like the play on words, my daughter told me that I didn't need to add anything else that it looked fine so I left it.  The pattern paper has been in my stash forever and the cork lettering used for the title is some that I picked up in Tuesday Morning recently and a few gems from Recollections and it was done.  I did straighten the gems in the top right corner before I stuck it in the book!

Take care and have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Sunday Musings

Hello and Happy Sunday, today is our 17th wedding anniversary!  We didn't make any plans so we will just go out to dinner and of course baby girl will be with us!  So today I am sharing my latest LO which uses a picture we took earlier this year at a birthday party.  I like how it came together and I think it looks better in person.  The title is a file from the Silhouette online store, I used Fiskars punches for the shapes, added some honeycomb gems from the Paper Stack and a few other embellishments and it was done!

Take care and have a great week!

Happy 4th

Happy Independence Day!  I'm back today to share the last of the three cards that I made for the 4th of July;  they all went postal but I'm not sure they will receive them in time!  Today's card is one where I decided not to use more of the pattern paper instead I used a star embossing folder  I cut the firecracker using the cricut Summer Celebrations Cartridge, a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment and added a few sequins and the card was done.  Even though it seems simple when I say what I did to the card it still takes me forever to complete a project!  I hope the card arrives with the sequins in tact!

Take care and enjoy your holiday!

A Happy Hello

Yesterday was July 1 and I forgot it was our nephew's 19th birthday and also his parents anniversary.  I really have to get myself organized, so I don't have to send belated wishes, I did send them an email message which is something I am trying to do less of.  This electronic age has taken over so much of our lives!  So today I am sharing the card that I am going to send to our nephew.

While I was reading my email this morning (real early)  I saw the the sketch inspiration over at Two Paper Divas which was actually sketch challenge #275 from Sweet Sunday Sketch. so I will probably share this card over there too!  I just pulled some random papers from my stash of scraps and put this card together using two TH gears, a small sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up and a banner punch.

Take care and have a great day!
