Wednesday Musings

Hello and Happy Wednesday, it has been raining for the last few days so it has dampened everything! The one good thing is that my DH comes back into town today and we have back to school night tomorrow at my DD's school.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for the FB card group, it is going postal to a 4 year old that was recently diagnosed and is being treated for leukemia.  I used scraps of paper from my stash along with a Sizzix notebook embossing folder.  I cut the superhero using the cricut create-a-friend cartridge and the crayon is from Recollections.

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Hello Monday

Today I am sharing another clean and simple card that I put together for the facebook card group.  It uses scraps of  paper from my stash and a Stampin' Up stamp and some enamel dots; the bowl was colored with colored pencils and the hearts with a sharpie. I am sharing this card for the Designer's Choice anything goes challenge #88 over at Can You Case it?

It seems like it has been forever since I last posted, although I was off work there was just too much to do.  That being said I didn't get my chores done, have my car serviced or play.  I did do some clearance shopping at ACMoore and Hobby Lobby which means I didn't use the coupons that I had planned to use for the items that I was looking to purchase.  I am going to a weekend crop soon so my intention was to get ready by having everything that I need when I go.  This is a real ambitious task for me!  Today I am sharing another clean and simple card that I put together for the facebook card group.  It uses paper scraps from my stash and a Stampin' Up stamp and some enamel dots; the bowl was colored with colored pencils and the hearts with a sharpie.

Totally Thursday

I am off today but as life would have it things haven't gone as planned.  It has been a rough week so full of tears, emotions and fears. A young state trooper was killed earlier this week, I grew up with his father; his father was my sister's first boyfriend, my husband's aunt passed in Ohio and we received news that another of our friends is seriously ill.  As hard as it has been I still believe and find comfort in God's  grace and mercy.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for someone recently diagnosed with breast cancer, the sketch inspiration came from the Try Stampin on Tuesday blog.

First Love

Hello Monday and I am back today to share one of my favorite LOs.  Today I am sharing a LO that I started last week for the Friday Night Chat over at Scraps of Color but as life would have it I didn't get it finished in time.  So I am sharing it for the Freestyle challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  I am also sharing it for the monthly stash challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.  The challenge is to create a LO using an item from your stash using the letters from the word LAYERS.  I used the following items from my stash (L) Love & label, (A) American Craft wood veneers, (Y) yellow, (E) Ephemera, (Eddie & Esperanza in the picture), (R) Recollections card stock and (S) sun.

I sure hope that when the time comes for my daughter to choose her mate she remembers the relationship she shares with her dad, she is a real daddy's girl!  My sister-in-law took these pictures last month while we were celebrating his birthday.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Sunday Musings

Hello, as I was sitting here trying to rest a bit, I decided to share. This may be a long post so I will share the card before I start my rambling.  I put this card together for our nephew Paul's 13th birthday.  I just used some scrap paper, a few gems and  a Studio G stamp from my stash.  The sketch inspiration from  challenge #14 over at Stamp Ink Paper.  I am also sharing this card for the color challenge over at Can You Case It?   I am really enjoying the inspiration from the blogs shared by one of my scrapping BFFs Felisa!

I feel like I need a nap but decided against it since there's work to be done.  We got a late start but we made it to church which I am glad because I didn't want to miss his message on love!  Afterwards we had to go shopping for some gym shorts for baby girl, not sure why we didn't look for them last week when we were out getting school supplies.  While we were out she reminded me that she had homework to finish so back home until we go back to church to volunteer to help make sandwiches for the homeless.  We still need to do our Costco shopping, which may have to wait until tomorrow since our neighbors have invited us over for a cookout later today.

Take care and have a great week, are you ready for Fall?  I am taking a few days off later in the week so I don't have to deal with the UCI Road World Championship crowds the whole week!

Saturday Musings

Hello and happy Saturday, I have been up for a few hours trying to finish up some cards that need to go postal today.  I can't keep up, I need to figure out a way to scale back!  I had planned to hang out online and chat with my SOC family but that didn't happen.  Looks like all my weekend plans will be altered!  Today I am sharing one of the cards that I put together this morning using sketch inspiration from Tuesday  Morning Sketches  along with paper from the Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6x6 pad with a few felt flowers from the Paper Studio and a Stampendous stamp.

Take care.

A New Home

Hello Thursday, today I am sharing a card that I put together to send to my brother-in-law.  He recently purchased his first house so I wanted to send him some happy mail before all the bills started to roll in.  I told him that his house will be the party house since he has a pool!  I'm sharing this card for this week's Super Scraps challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.    I cut the house using the April Showers cricut cartridge, embossed the roof with a sizzix folder, punched the butterflies with a MS punch, added a  tree that was unused from another project, a little bling and the card was done!

Take care.

Tuesday Musings

My how time flies, my play time keeps getting interrupted by life!  I have been trying to post since Sunday.  My friend Felisa is always on the look out for simple scrapping ideas and she forwards them to me and a lot of time she lets me know if I win a challenge too!  Today I am sharing a card that I made over the weekend using one of the ideas that she sheared last week.  I know this idea isn't new and perhaps I have even used it before but it is just what I needed so I plan to mass produce it since I have way too many embossing folders sitting around not being used.  Now I just need to find the time to make it happen!

Take care and have a great day!  We are waking up to cooler temps, how's the weather in your area?

I Got This

Here it is Saturday morning and I am sneaking in some play time!  I had originally planned to go into the office to work since I was out two days this week but decided to stay home since it was raining and I knew DH would be sleeping in and baby girl had an appointment to see her sytlist.  So I decided to finish and share this LO, it uses pictures from two different days.  One when baby girl spent the morning shadowing another student in April and the other the final day of her week long new student orientation last month.  Like most of my projects it took many twists and turns before it was done, all the papers came from some scraps and single sheets that have been in my stash.  I cut the title with my SLICE (love that little machine), the book using the Locker Talk cricut cartridge and the doll using the Teen Scene cartridge.

Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Lady Falcons

It's Friday and I'm back to share the card that my daughter will find in her lunch box today.  I'll be switching to random mini notes starting next week.   I am sharing this card for the Favorite Team Colors challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  The favorite team being my daughter's volleyball team. I got the falcon from the school's website, found some papers in my stash, punched the circles, hand wrote the sentiment, added some twine and a few sequins and the card was done!

Lots going on today with 9/11 events.  I can't wait until 5:00, I'm not feeling well today; I just took some sinus medicine because my head is hurting really bad.

Homework

I meant to post this before I left for home this morning but I ran out of time.  I am thankful for traveling mercies, I made it back in good time despite some heavy traffic and rain.  The service was nice and it was good seeing family that I don't often see.  On Tuesday my daughter came home with an assignment to cover a composition book for her Ecology class.  So this is what she/we did using a sheet of paper from the DCWV Homeroom Stack and letters cut with SLICE!

Wednesday Musings

I had a project to share but I didn't have a chance to photograph it so I'll share a picture of baby girl first day of  school as we were about to leave home yesterday morning!  I didn't have time to take her picture this morning and I was bummed because she wore a dress to school which is not something that she normally does!

Wow, I didn't get to bed until after 1 AM this morning which meant we all were running late this morning.  Baby girl dropped off at school (she is suppose to ride the bus but they haven't assigned her a bus or stop yet),   I'm at work and DH is sleeping a little later since he was on the phone throughout the night working!   We have to get ourselves adjusted quickly otherwise this is going to be a rough year. We didn't get home until almost 10  PM which meant mounds of paperwork to be signed, reading and homework only for classes that she had today.  They had a volleyball game which meant we had to eat out afterwards.  No game tomorrow but practice and team pictures and since I have to go home to attend my aunt's funeral  backup care has to be in place since DH's schedule is so unpredictable.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Wednesday!

Hit the Books

First day of school here, off to a good start and lots of emotions!  I am back today to share another card that I put together for this week's  back to school card blitz for our daughter.  The sketch inspiration for this card came from sketch #285 over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge,  All items used came from my stash, scraps of paper from other projects, stickers for the sentiment, wood veneer stars and the stack of books cut using the Autumn Celebrations cricut cartridge.

Take care and have a wonderful week.

Labor Day

Hello Monday and Happy Labor Day!  Today I am sharing another card that  I put together for my daughter, as stated in an earlier post she will find a different card her backpack this week.  All items used have been in my stash for for a while, love the stamped sentiment!

I not sure why I hadn't scheduled this post before now but now I am struggling to get it done.  I am sleepy, tired and anxious all in one; there is so much to do but I need to get back in bed.  DH and I had a much needed date night last night, but I was up way past my bedtime along with several emotional family crisis I am in need of prayers and more grace.  After seeing the movie War Room my daughter asked me would I be emptying my closet?

Take care and enjoy the holiday.

Hello Saturday

It's a holiday weekend and I'm trying to rest and play as much as possible.  Today I am sharing another card that I put together and sent for the FB card angel group.  Now that summer is winding down and school is about to start my play time will be limited as I'll be transporting my daughter to and from wherever her schedule dictates.  Do you have plans for the weekend or for the upcoming Fall season?  The pattern papers used on this card came from the Pink Paislee Bella Rouge pad, it takes forever to use all the paper in the pad!  A stamp, some twine and a few other embellishments and this card was done!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday weekend.

Back2School

Hello Thursday, I am back today to share one of the cards that I put together for our daughter who is heading to high school next week.  She'll find a different card in her lunch box each day next week, this will be her first year catching the bus so it will be an adventure!  The sketch inspiration came from sketch #84 over at Can You Case It?   I used a kraft card base and  pattern paper from the 8x8 TPC Studio Homeroom paper pad that has been in my stash for a while.  I cut the bus and sentiment from the Autumn Celebrations cricut cartridge so I am also sharing this card for this week's Back to School challenge over at Bitten by the Bug2.  Added some dimensional dots and gems for the headlights and this card was done, I have my friend Felisa to thank for keeping my inbox full of sketch ideas!

Take care and enjoy your day.  We are expecting high temps today so I will stay in the building until I leave work for the day!

Wednesday Musings

Hello and Happy Wednesday, I have been super busy this week at work as my manager has been out. As budget cuts would have it we are a two woman office and sometimes it can be so hectic!  I am back today to share a LO that I posted on FB last week for the weekly LO challenge, it is one of my daughter and my FIL.  It is a picture of them from June 2007 one Sunday after church as they were standing on the grounds.  My FIL was tickled when he saw the picture and my daughter screamed what was going on with my hair!

Wishing you and yours a Marvelous Wednesday!
