Cherish History

Hello Monday and welcome to the last day of February.  Today I am sharing the LO that I completed for the Black History Month Bingo Challenge over at Scraps of Color.  The LO uses pictures taken last January when we went to the Black HistoryMuseum for MLK Day.  They have since relocated to another building, so we need to make plans to go there soon.   One of the elements on the card was to include an embellished ATC, which I stenciled the background and added a die that I cut with the my cricu using the December/January classroom cartridge which I glimmer misted (hard to see in the picture).  The January calendar was cut from a 2015 Black History calendar.  This makes my 8th completed LO for 2016, not too far behind now!

Take care, wishing you and yours a fabulous week!

Friday Musings

It's the weekend, sure hope I can make it through the work day since it is now 2:25 in the morning and I am wide awake.  I missed the news so I was asleep before 11:00 but was awaken  as my DH was working from bed but eventually decided he needed to go in.

Today I am sharing a LO that has been siting unfinished for quite sometime.  It uses pictures taken when my BIL was the guest speaker during scholarship Sunday at my in-laws church.  Everything used has been in my stash for at least two years or more; I cut the church die using my SLICE. I cut the little flags with my little Crafter's Companion Diamond Press machine that I purchased during one of HSN's craft shows; of course I didn't need it!   I am sharing this LO for  challenge #212 -more than one photo over at  Use Your Stuff.   Another LO (first 2 -page) completed for my 2016 challenge.

Thank you for your visit, have a great weekend.

Thinking of You

Hello Tuesday, it is raining very hard here so I am thinking about sleep!   I am back today to share another card made at the request of one of the FB card Angels.  This card has gone postal to a couple that is going through some challenges because of cancer.  I pray that God will give them the strength to accept his will.  The paper and flower are items from my stash, can't remember which paper pad I used since the paper were taken from my scrap stash.  I am sharing this super clean and simple card for challenge #239 over at Hiding in my Craft Room, sketch inspiration for this card came from challenge #108 over at Can You Case It?

Thank you for your visit and I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!

Smile

Hello and Happy Sunday, the sun is shining and we have warm temps but the forecast calls for rain.  So my plans for today after church include running a few errands, cook dinner  and play!  I surely hope I don't get side tracked.  Today I am sharing my fifth LO for my 2016 challenge, still behind but making progress!  The LO uses a picture of my daughter taken with a local news personality, who was the guest speaker at a NAACP awards banquet.  The pattern paper is from a K&Co. Specially pad, the flowers, doily and wood veneer cameras are embellishments that are always in my stash.  I used the Create-a-Critter cartridge for the title and the Nifty Fifties cartridge for the retro television.

Thank you for your visit, I hope you'll come back soon.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Friday Musings

Hello Friday, it's the weekend; what's on your agenda?  I have been trying to share this card for the last two days but as life would have it I am just taking the time to do it.  So much going on and sometime the things we'd like to do most gets side tracked.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for a challenge over at Scraps of Color, it has been a while since I shared something that I created for one of their challenges.  The challenge "Things that Fly" so I went straight to my stash of opened waiting to be used stuff and found this bird.  I think it was part of some items that I received from another scrapper.  I also used the Provocraft birds and swirls embossing folder added a computer generated sentimet and this card was done.

Tuesday Musings

Hello Tuesday, woke up a few minutes ago to the phone ringing, a robo call from the school district.  They decided to start school with a two hour delay,  police have been responding to so many accidents so I am going into work late. I am back today to share one of the cards that I made over the weekend, I am trying to finish up some leftover paper from several projects and not add it to my scrap stash.   I also used some washi tape, some Paper Studio flowers and a stamped sentiment and this card was done.  The inspiration for the card came from from challenge #257 over at Try Stampin on Tuesday.   I am also sharing this card for this week's black no white challenge over at  Use Your Stuff.

More Snow

Hello Monday, Happy President's Day!  This is what I saw when I opened the door this morning. DH had pulled my car to the edge of the driveway last night because of the forecast.   I had to brave the elements and get to work; it wasn't too bad.  I had planned to share a card that I put together over the weekend but I didn't take a picture of it so I'll share it tomorrow or the next day.  So how was your weekend, did you do anything exciting?  I didn't, DH hasn't been feeling well so he spent most of the time in bed.  We missed a birthday party on Saturday but he did manage to get up so we could go out to dinner yesterday.  My daughter keeps a busy calendar so I did have to transport her to outings on both Friday and Saturday evening.

Saturday Musings

It's cold outside, no snow though so I am happy.   I spent some time sorting and organizing before I worked on today's project as I am on a challenge for LENT.  I am back today to share another Valentine's Day card that took many twists and turns before I finally called it done.  After many tries on getting the jar to stamp crisp I wondered why I didn't just use a punch or die since I have several in my stash.  Oh well I guess I was just intent on using the stamps that came in the Recollections set.  I fussy cut the jar added some pop dots and put it on the card; I also used two different embossing folders.  I am sharing this card for this week's embossing folder challenge over at  Use Your Stuff.

Thank you for your visit, be safe and enjoy Valentine's Day.

Happy Anniversary

Hello and happy Thursday, it is really cold here today!  When we woke up yesterday there was a little bit of snow on the cars and other surfaces but nothing like the blizzard we had a few weeks ago!  I am back today to share a card that I made for one of the members of the FB angel card group.  She and her husband are celebrating their 19th anniversary on Valentine's Day, her card is done and will go postal later today but I doubt it will make it to her on time!  All items used on the card came from my stash and the sketch inspiration came from challenge #106 over at Can You Case it?  Take care and make it a great day!

Tuesday Musings

Hello Tuesday, it's cold and dreary outside; it is snowing in some areas but not here so I am glad! I Yesterday was my father's birthday and since I got caught up celebrating my daughter I had to mail his cards in a hurry.  Today I am sharing another clean and simple card that I put together while I was making his cards.  I find these cards are easier and less expensive to mail!  I just used some scraps of paper from my stash including a small strip of handmade paper from a LO that I started over the weekend.  I cut the embellishment from the CTMH Artiste cricut cartridge, added a few silver gems, popped it onto the card, stamped the sentiment and the card was done!  I'm sharing this card for this weeks no reds or pinks challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Mother's Day 'Usie'

Hello and happy Super Sunday, I am not a big professional sports fan so I am not one of the people waiting for the big game today!  Instead I am preparing to finish our daughter's birthday celebration, we will be going to Dave & Busters today along with five of her friends.  Today I am sharing another LO that I completed last week.  I am still way behind for my 2016 challenge but I am making progress.  This LO uses the 'Usie' that we took on Mother's Day last year as we were about to start our road trip to see my parents.  Since I used pattern paper I decided to limit the embellishments, I used some ephemera for the Hello Sunshine package from Pink Paislee that I picked up in Tuesday Morning last Spring.  I completed the LO by just stamping Mother's Day and the year directly on the paper.

Thank you for your visit, take care and have a Super Week.

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

Today our daughter is celebrating her birthday, this is the sign I made for her, this what she'll see when she goes into her bathroom this morning.  I used the Creats-a-Critter and Mickey font cartridges, glittered stickers for the number and punches for the hearts and stars.  We have a busy day planned with family and friends today and tomorrow.  Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Feel Better Soon

It's Friday, the start of the weekend, what's on your calendar?  Tomorrow baby girl turns 15 so the birthday excitement is in the air.  Today I am sharing another card that I made for FB group and it has already gone postal.  I just used misc. paper scraps from my stash, cut the sentiment using the Lyrical Letters cricut cartridge and the embellishment is from K&Co and has been waiting forever to be used on a project!  The sketch inspiration for the card came from challenge #433 over at Mojo Monday.  I am also sharing this card for challenge #236 - Freestyle over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Throwback Thursday

It is Thursday and we woke up to warm temps and rain and of course I didn't want to get out of bed! We are in countdown mode as we are gearing up to celebrate the 15th birthday of our baby girl.  I am back today to share a LO using a picture of my DH and his brother.  I was going through an old album and decided to scrap the picture of them taken the day my DH graduated from college.

I really dug through my scrap stash and completed this LO using only one full sheet of paper as the base.  I used stickers from two different Momenta sticker packs, AC wood veneer stars, the wavy arrow was cut previously with my cameo and the cap using the school's colors cut using the Locker Talk cricut cartridge.

Take care and enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday Monica

Today is my sister-in-laws's birthday so I am sharing the card that I made for her.  All items used have been in my stash for some time.  I don't remember when I made that cut using the Forever Young cricut cartridge but it has finally found its way to a project, I cut the oval with a Spellbinder die, added some Paper Studio flowers and a stamped sentiment and the card was done!  I'm sure she probably won't receive it in today's mail but it is the thought that counts.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll come back tomorrow as I'll be sharing another completed LO!

Hello February

Hello Monday and welcome to February; let's make it a great day!  Yesterday was my son's birthday and Saturday is my daughter's birthday so we are in a celebratory mood.  We have other family members celebrating their birthday's this month too.  I'm doing a happy dance because I finally got a few LOs done, I didn't finish my challenge for January but I'm hoping to do better this month.  Today I am sharing my daughter's first day of school LO, clean and simple! I used a sheet of Recollections paper for the base with the remaining paper coming from the DCWV High School paper stack.  The back to school circle is a rub-on, the remaining embellishments are stickers from a school pack that I picked up from Hobby Lobby on clearance sometime ago.

Take care and have a wonderful week!
