Friday Musings

It's still raining here, the forecast calls for some relief from the rain tomorrow and Sunday.  I'm looking forward to the rain ending as I have two events tomorrow and I don't want to have to drag an umbrella and I am wearing sandals!  Today I am sharing my Tea Time LO that I've been working on for several months,   My daughter and I attended a mother/daughter Mother's Day tea in May sponsored by a girl's mentoring group at a church.  We enjoyed it so much that my daughter decided to join the mentoring group, it is called God's Nia and she even ran and was elected Vice-President of the group.  I used the Forever Young, Songbird and Suburbia cricut cartridges, some Smooch accent ink and AC wood veneer embellishments.  The pattern paper came from The TradeWinds paper stack from DCWV.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Happy Fall

Hello and happy rainy Tuesday, the state fair is here so we are guaranteed rain this week!  It never fails and surely puts a damper on the whole event.  I am back today to share a card that I put together using sketch inspiration from Sunday Stamps sketch #136, scraps of paper and embellishments from my stash.  I cut the tree using the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.  I used my label maker for the sentiment.    I love clean and simple projects that allow me to use my stash even though it seems like I am not putting a dent in the piles!  Take care and have a wonderful day.

Get Well Soon

Hello and happy Sunday!  The weekend goes by way too fast especially when on Saturday your schedule is booked from the start of the day until you are so tired all you can do is go to bed!  Which means you will be busy on Sunday too.  When I woke up yesterday I had a text from my DH saying he needed four cards, he said he would help but I knew that meant he needed them right away!  I used a sketch from FUSION for inspiration for two of the cards.  When he asks for cards they are usually for his fraternity brothers so I usually use the same colors with a little variation and not too many embellishments.  I used embossing folders and the Simply Sweet cricut cartridge for the sentiment.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Friday Musings

Hello and happy Friday, it's the weekend!  I am back today to share a birthday card that I made for my cousin Kathina, her birthday was yesterday and of course her card will arrive late!  The sketch inspiration for the card came from Tuesday Morning Sketches,  I used paper from the My Minds Eye Happy Day 6x6 paper pad.  I also use another one of the dies that I ordered from Ebay that came from China, a Spellbinder's die for the scallop circle, a MS punch for the butterflies and a few enamel dots.  I am also sharing this card for challenge #267, use three different pattern papers over at Hiding in my Craft Room and the butterfly challenge over at Use Your Stuff.   Thank you for your visit, wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Happy Fall Yall

Happy Thursday and happy Fall officially in a few hours!  I meant to share yesterday but just didn't get to it, I am coming up on a very busy month so I am having to devote more time to those things. I will be sharing those events on my blog so stay tuned!   Today I am happy to share a project that my daughter helped me complete and she has proudly displayed it on our front door!    It is a scarecrow wreath that was another Maymay Made It inspired project.   I had some stuff in my stash and I purchased the remaining items from Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree and ACMoore.  Our original version used a pipe cleaner for the mouth but I didn't like it so I just decided to draw one with a permanent marker. You can find the scarecrow wreath tutorial here, we made ours last month but waited until today to hang it on our door!  Take care, I hope you'll come back soon.

Happy Birthday Paul

Hello and happy Monday, I survived the weekend!  Today is the 14th birthday for our nephew Paul so I am sharing the card that I made for him, last Monday was his brother's 15th birthday and I forgot so I had to make him a card  too!  The sketch inspiration for this card came from sketch #288 over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.   I used paper from the Graphics 45 Sport 6x6 paper pad,  a football jelly sicker that has been in my stash forever, a stamped sentiment, a few Queen & Co. Jellies and the card was done.  Than you for your visit, I hope you will come back again soon!

Sunday Musings

Hello Sunday, how goes your weekend, what have you been doing.  As for me I am trying to get this post done before I head out to church, my family and I are worshipping at two different churches today!  Today I am sharing one of the cards that I put together yesterday for the FB card angel group, it will go postal tomorrow to someone being treated for cancer.  I used a WeR Memory Keepers wood grain embossing folder and dies from Crafter's  Companion and Gina Marie; all for the first time.  I decided not to add a sentiment on the front of the card.   I have had a productive crafting weekend but there is more to life than papercrafting!    Take care and have a great week.

Wedding Card

Hello and happy Friday, wishing you and yours a wonderfully blessed weekend.  Today I am sharing a card that I put together last Friday as me and one of my scrapping buddies hung out on google hangout.  I needed a wedding card so I decided to pull out some of the dies that I had purchased recently from Tuesday Morning.  The sketch inspiration came from the WeR Memory Keepers doily heart die packaging, and I also used the banner die set from WeR for the first time!  I cut the heart with my cricut (can't remember which cartridge) and everything else used has been in my stash for a while!

Wednesday Wanderings

Hello and happy hump day, I was out of the office yesterday and was planning to post but as life would have it I didn't get around to it.  I am looking forward to the forecast for some cooler temps.  I am thinking about taking off as I am feeling a little drained.  My daughter came home on Monday asking me to cover one of her composition books and of course I was happy to do it, so today I am sharing what I did for her.  She did give me some guidelines and she was pleased with the way that it turned out. I couldn't get a very good picture!  I used paper from the DCWV  High School paper pad and a piece from the Glittzy pad for the spine (which I may have to change).  I used one of the dies that I ordered off Ebay from China and one from Crafter's Companion which has her name on it.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you will come back again soon!

We Remember

Hello Sunday, today 15 years ago America suffered it's worst act of terror.  Today we pause and pray for the safety of our nation and especially those who serve and their families.  Today I am sharing an encouragement card going to a young person that has just started her armed services enlistment journey.   The  inspiration for this card came from OWH sketch #223, which I have my friend Felisa to thank as this skerch was included in one of her emails to me yesterday.  I used papers from the Colorbok Signature Old Glory paper pad, I cut the star using the CTMH Artiste cricut cartridge.  I am sharing this card for the Super Scraps Saturday challenge #266  over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Thank you for your visit, wishing you and yours a wonderful week.

Friday Musings

It's Friday evening almost night and I am suppose to be playing with one of my friends online.  I wanted to share this card that I put together this afternoon using skerch inspiration from sketch #464 over at Mojo Monday.   I had limited items to play with but I wanted to get this card done for one of my co-workers.   The pattern paper came from the DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack, I cut the sentiment using the George cricut cartridge and added a few Jolee's dimensional stickers and this card was done.  Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend.

Hello Tuesday

It's the first day of school, the official end of summer vacation!  I am up getting a little "me time" in before I start getting ready for work, I feel asleep last night before sharing this post!  Today I am sharing a LO that I recently completed using pictures taken of our daughter during the closing of the summer program that she attended.  She attended a five week Math Science Investigator program at the University of Richmond.  She worked in a lab and this was the poster presentation of what she learned.  All items used on the LO has been in my stash for a while with the exception of the paper which came from one of my many recent Tuesday Morning purchases.  The paper is from the WeR Memory Keeper Jet Set paper pad.

Thank you for your visit, wishing you and yours a wonderful week and first day of school for the kids that are starting today!

A New Home

Hello and happy Sunday, hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  As for me I have been getting lots of rest as I am sitting in bed as I type this post!  Today I am sharing a card that I put together for one of my scrappin' friends that is relocating to another state.  I am happy that she is going to be a tad bit closer so I hope we get to see each other more!  I had been meaning to get a card to her at her new address for sometime so this morning after looking at several challenges I decided to get it done!  I like how it came out as I used sketch inspiration challenge #136 over at Can You Case It?  I am also sharing this card for this week's Fall colors challenge #265 over at Hiding in my Craft Room.  All items used have been in my stash for sometime, even used a rub-on for the sentiment!

Take care and have a wonderful week, I hope you will come back soon!

You Got This

Hello, happy Friday, it's a holiday weekend!  Do you have plans as summer comes to an end?  We won't be doing too much just getting ready for the start of the school year which brings me to day's post.   I am sharing one of the cards that I made for our  daughter as she prepares for the first day of school on Tuesday.  I used  a kraft card base, some paper from a TPC Studio Homeroom paper pad, a WeR Memory Keepers embossing strip, and a pencil diecut from the  Simply Charmed cricut cartridge.   I am sharing this card for the Back to School challenge over at Bitten by the Bug2.   So proud of myself that I am using items that I recently purchased rather than letting them sit unopened/unused!

Thank you for your visit, wishing you and yours a safe and fun holiday.
